Public Hearing Notice
Amendments to Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances
The West Burlington Planning and Zoning Commission invites all residents to attend a Public Hearing to discuss proposed updates to the City's Zoning Code and Subdivision Regulations.
Date: April 17, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM
Location: West Burlington City Hall, 122 Broadway Street, West Burlington, IA
Purpose of the Hearing: The hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to comment on the proposed updates to the City's Zoning Code and Subdivision Regulations. These regulations are crucial for several reasons:
- Promoting Orderly Development: Zoning codes help ensure that land use is organized in a way that promotes public health and safety by separating incompatible uses, such as residential and industrial areas.
- Enhancing Quality of Life: Thoughtful zoning can enhance the quality of life by fostering equitable development and creating inclusive urban environments.
- Ensuring Infrastructure Standards: Subdivision regulations set standards for streets, utilities, drainage, and access, ensuring that new developments are equipped with adequate infrastructure.
- Facilitating Accurate Land Records: Subdivision regulations help maintain accurate land records, making it easier to locate and transfer property.
We encourage all residents to participate and share their views. Your feedback will help us create a more vibrant and well-planned community.
The proposed amendments are available at West Burlington City Hall. For more information, please contact the City Clerk at (319) 752-5451 or visit our website at www.westburlingtoniowa.gov
